2 weeks left!

For the last two and a half months I've been staffing the School of Web Design and Communication. Helping with design consultation and other various bits and pieces. We are in our last 2 weeks! We have 6 students - from L to R Kokwain from Nigeria, Nathan from Holland/UK, Fred from Tanzania, Seun from Nigeria, Ross from Ghana and Martine from South Africa. They are a great bunch with a wonderful sense of humor, a huge heart for worship, and are working very hard and excited about learning web design. They will use these skills in their respective countries and throughout the world to broadcast the good news of Jesus Christ! After the Christmas Holiday they will be starting their 3 month internship where they will get to use the skills they've learned these past 3 months to do some hands on practical web-design, helping other Christian ministries. I'm so excited for them! Please pray for them as they finish their last project and will have an exhibition of all they've done at the end of next week.

YWAM ENGLAND ARTS NETWORK GATHERING

Currently I'm gearing up for the 2nd YWAM England Arts Network Gathering. It's next Thursday-Saturday, Nov 11-13. We are gathering together as YWAM England Artists to encourage each other, pray and worship, do some art and seek God to see how we can collaborate more in the future...I'm SUPER excited about this!

It has been a wonderfully busy week! I lead lots of intercession and worship, we interceded for Diwali (Divali), a.k.a. the Festival of Lights, on Monday morning. Diwali, which means row of lamps, is a Hindu, Sikh and Jain 5 day celebration of light overcoming darkness, the triumph of good over evil. So I thought it would be a good idea to pray that during this time when they are with a sincere heart pursuing light over darkness that they would know Jesus is the light of the world!

"When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said,'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'"-John 8:12

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."

I would encourage you to continue to pray or find out more about Diwali. It never hurts to gain a bit more knowledge or pray for people :) And praise Jesus that He is the light!
Hope you are all well :) Blessings!

Brighton, July 26-Aug 1

About 150 people gathered for 'Get Out' outreach, YWAM partnering with Soul Survivor (a church here in England). We split into 5 teams
Lithuania
Romania
Cambridge, England
Cornwall, England
Brighton, England

A group of about 25 of us went to Brighton to do outreach for a week.

Monday
We travelled by train to Brighton, where we stayed at a church called Gloucster Baptist, and prayer walked around the city, to get a feel and oriented to it.

Tuesday
After worship, we were able to bless a non-profit Community Café, just outside of Brighton, by giving it a makeover. It is run by Volunteers, so they don't get paid. Within the day we had repainted and stained the outside and inside of the café. They were so thankful.

Our Deepest Fear

I was looking at one of my friend's facebook pages and she had a youtube clip from Coach Carter. In it was a snippet of a poem by Marianne Williamson and wanted to share it with you.

Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness
That most frightens us.

We ask ourselves
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small
Does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people will not feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine
As children do.
We were born to make manifest
The glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us;
It's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

Mind, Body, Spirit

Two weeks ago Saturday I was able to go into London along with 7 others from YWAM England to pray for people in a stall at a Mind, Body, Spirit fair. Many people came to get prayer, we asked God what His original design was for them and many people were blessed and some people were healed and others committed their lives to Jesus.

Approaching and starting conversations with people I don’t know isn’t something I would normally do but as the day went on I was able to pray for many different people and share my belief in Jesus and God used me to share my testimony with quite a few people. It was remarkable how much more open these people were compared to just going out on the street.

We had training 2 weeks previous on what words to use to speak to people, to communicate the message of Jesus without using "Christianese", so instead of calling ourselves Christians we called ourselves "Jesus followers" and were able to talk about the Holy Spirit quite freely and openly. Also we were recommended to use language like "from my experience". When I first heard the teaching, I thought, “This is crazy, these people are just wrong and how will I ever be able to communicate with them, I don't even know what words to use?” Then I was given a revelation that if I thought about them as an un-reached people group, like a tribe in the middle of nowhere, where I would need to learn the language and would make lots of mistakes at first, but as long as I loved them and cared for them and spoke the truth in love, then I would let God do the rest.

All in all, it was overwhelming at first, my only prayer for the day was that God would use me. There is one girl that I was able to exchange e-mail addresses with, I had felt like God had asked me to tell here that Jesus is Lord of my life...and she has e-mailed me in the last week and asked about how my relationship with God has come about, if you could please keep her in your prayers that would be wonderful :)

'evergreen'

This past April I joined my friends' band, Evergreen, to sing back-up vocals for a week long pub outreach in Cardiff, Wales. They have recently become a ministry here at YWAM Harpenden. The idea is to go into pubs and play the music they have written, but have a group of friends who go in with them, who will pray with them beforehand and while in the pub, to make friends and start conversations, and basically bring Jesus into the pubs. God opened so many doors while we were there!

We had the opportunity to be on the radio, you can listen to the recording here:

I was also able to join them to play at a local school in May and share our testimony of Jesus with kids ages 10-17. I'm so thankful for these opportunities to be able to use the musical gift God has given me to lift up His name and reach out to others!
